Mexico shakes and finds victory in Final Six

The Mexican sextet was shaken and was able to find the way to victory after disposing of Cuba in five sets (25-19/23-25/20-25/25-17/11-15), during the first match of the third day of the Norceca Final Six Tournament, where the Banreservas Cup is played.

The Mexicans (1-2), a team that had not known victory, managed to recover after losing the first sets of some Cubans (1-2) who came out hungry to achieve their second victory in the event that takes place at the Palacio de Volleyball Ricardo -Gioriver- Arias, from the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.

Aimé Margarita Topete led the offensive work for Mexico, with 22 points, escorted by María Fernanda Rodríguez, with 20 and Karina Angelica Gamez contributed 18 points, in a game that lasted almost two hours, 1:58 minutes.

For the losers, Dezirett De La Caridad Madan was the most outstanding after scoring 25 points, followed by Ailama Cesé Montalvo, with 19 points.

“It fills us with joy to be able to get our first victory, it was difficult for us to maintain the advantage, but the approaches worked and we came out with the victory,” said Margarita Topete, after the match.

The actions of the Final Six continue this Wednesday with the match between Mexico vs. Puerto Rico, at 3:00 in the afternoon, followed by the confrontation between the United States and Cuba, at 5:00 pm, and the Dominican Republic and Canada close the day, at 7:00 at night.
