Mexican Comedy Duo Mascabrothers Revealed as One Character on Masked Singer

The latest episode of ‘Quién es la Máscara’ delivered a significant double reveal. The character “Sonaja, Chupón y Bebé” was unmasked, disclosing the identities of renowned Mexican comedians Freddy and Germán Ortega, collectively known as the “Mascabrothers.”

Investigator Carlos Rivera successfully guessed the duo’s identity. His fellow panelists expressed a desire for the comedic brothers to remain in the competition longer. Following their reveal, the Mascabrothers stated, “They invited us, we came to have fun, and that’s what we did.”

Freddy and Germán Ortega are celebrated as one of Mexico’s most iconic comedy duos. Hailing from Puebla, they built a career rooted in unique stage chemistry and ingenious humor.

Freddy, born in 1964, is the elder sibling, with Germán following in 1968. Their comedic style merges popular, picaresque humor with their familial bond, evident in their “Mascabrothers” moniker.

Their extensive career includes successful shows like “El Tenorio Cómico,” “A oscuras me da risa,” “La Parodia,” and “Parodiando.” They are also recognized for creating memorable characters such as “La Jitomata y La Perejila,” “Franky e Igor,” and “Los Mayitos.”

The Mascabrothers’ departure follows previous unmaskings on the show. Actress Adamari López was revealed as “Shiba Moon,” and Marlene Favela had been performing as “Bebeeeee.”

The current panel of investigators features Anahí Puente, who has been renewed for the season, Juanpa Zurita, and Carlos Rivera. Ana Brenda Contreras is also part of the team, stepping in for Martha Higareda, who is currently pregnant.

The competition continues with characters including Tony Manguera, Hieny Fer, Capibara, Carroñero, Maestro Bops, María Ovina, Nocturna, Federico García, Metaliebre, Ruby Gloss, Samurai, Mini Chang, Monsquezee, Sony Hámster, and Tropicoco.

The next episode of ‘Quién es la Máscara’ is scheduled to air on Sunday, November 2. Viewers can tune in at 8:00 PM ET / 7:00 PM CT on Canal de Las Estrellas in Mexico.
