Metz is back in the big leagues. They beat Reims 3-1 in a thrilling playoff comeback.

It’s been a year since Metz dropped to Ligue 2. Now they’re returning to France’s top division.
The matchup was intense. Luís Castro’s team trailed 1-0 at 57 minutes. Reims’ Ange Tia scored first.
But Metz tied it up with Udol’s goal. This forced the game into extra time.

In overtime, Metz took charge. Alfa Toure scored at 110 minutes. Gauthier Hein added another goal four minutes later.
This sealed Metz’s promotion to Ligue 1. Reims, on the other hand, will play in Ligue 2 next season. They’ll join Saint-Étienne and Montpellier, who were demoted directly.
