Mets rout Reds 10-2 and Lindor extends his scoring streak

Francisco Lindor scored three runs to tie the franchise record for at least one run in 13 straight games, and the New York Mets swept to their sixth straight victory with a 10-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday.

Lindor went 2-for-3 with a walk and a two-run single in the second that raised his RBI total to 82, matching Jose Reyes in 2006 for the most by a Mets shortstop. The Puerto Rican achieved it in his 111th game of the campaign, 42 fewer than the games played by Reyes that year.

His scoring streak is the longest in the majors this season and tied David Wright (July 13-29, 2008) for the most in Mets history.

Taijuan Walker (10-3) pitched six strong innings to reach double figures in wins for the first time since going 11-8 with Seattle in 2015.

Daniel Vogelbach had three RBIs, Tyler Naquin homered and Pete Alonso had three hits for the NL East leaders.

New York has the second-best record in the majors (73-39), and it outscored Cincinnati 21-5 in sweeping the three-game series. The Mets have won every game by three runs or more during their six-game winning streak.
