Metros of Santiago start route with sight in sixth crown

The search for the sixth crown in the National Basketball League has begun for the Santiago Metros. The group had its first training session at the Gran Arena del Cibao Oscar Gobaira.

The leader David Díaz was in charge of the team, in his first practice at the head of the five-time LNB champions.

All-stars Adris de León and Robert Glenn led the pack, along with Oliver Garcia and recent 2022 draft picks Jeffry Arias and Enmanuel Labata. The well-known Saul Mejía, Brahiam Méndez (Brayita), José Americo Delgado and the guests, Adris Rodríguez (Yao), Yormi Almonte, Carlos Martínez and Jensi Jiménez, all with the opportunity to seek a position on the active roster.

“I am happy with this first day, a very nice first impression. Having the presence of Adris and Glenn in our first practice, is a clear message that the boys are focused”, said David Díaz.

For Díaz this week is of the utmost importance, to be able to work on the philosophy that we want to implement on the court. “We have some absences, players who are participating in other leagues, Eloy Vargas in Argentina and Brandone Francis in Colombia, as well as Miguel Dicent who has just been crowned champion in Brazil. We just wait for the integration of that core to complete.”
