Meta explains how AI influences Facebook and Instagram recommendations

Nowadays, Meta bases its commitment to greater transparency around several of the AI systems that incorporate your comments to rank content on Facebook and Instagram.. These systems make it more likely that the posts that appear will be relevant and interesting.

The tech giant announces that they will launch 22 system cards for Facebook and instagram and that these tools provide information about how AI systems classify the content the user views, make predictions to determine what content might be most relevant to the consumer, and give them the opportunity to personalize their experience.

All of them can be consulted in the Meta Transparency Center. These cards have rules that take into account the way in which Meta users consume content within the different platforms, either through the Feed, Stories or Reels. In addition, they integrate AI systems that recommend unconnected content, referring to people or profiles that are not followed.

Expand tools to personalize your experience

By using the available tools, Meta gives you the option to shape our experiences in your apps so that we see more of the content we want to see and less of the content we don’t. To facilitate this, they have created centralized places on Facebook and Instagram where you can customize the controls that influence the content we see in each application.

On Instagram they are testing a new function that allows users to distinguish between what is interesting and what is not interesting. On the other hand, other measures of Meta is the function Show more, Show less on Facebook, which is available on all posts in Feed, Video, and Reels via the three-dot menu.

In the coming weeks, the company will launch a new set of tools for researchers: Meta Content Library and API. The Library includes data from public posts, pages, groups, and events on Facebook. For Instagram, it will include public posts and account data from creators and businesses.
