Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has updated its business values. Among the changes their employees are now called “metamates”.
On a recent postMark Zuckerberg announced that the company is changing its values to reflect the company’s growth and new focus on the metaverse.
The update has changed “fast movement” per “move fast together” “be bold” per “build amazing things” and added “focus on long-term impact” to the list of values.
instead of having “it’s open” as one of your values, Meta has been added to the list “live in the future” s “Be direct and respect your colleagues.”
“We wrote the current values of our company in 2007”Zuckerberg said in the post. “They were remarkably enduring, but a lot has changed during that time. We are now a distributed company. We have a global community and a broad impact. And now we are a metaverse company, building the future of social connection.”
The last of the values is “Meta, Metamata, Me” , taking the company’s metaverse rebranding a step further. He said this is related “the sense of responsibility we have for our collective success and each other as teammates.”
