The competitive Free Fire world saw a respected figure step down this past Sunday. Luiz “K9” Alberto, widely known as “Mestre K9,” the coach for LOUD, officially announced his retirement from the esports scene. This news came right after the final match of the Free Fire Worlds Series Brazil (FFWS BR) 2025 – Split 2 tournament.
Mestre K9 shared his decision on X, previously known as Twitter, through a brief but impactful message. He mentioned that he had been thinking about leaving competitive Free Fire for some time. His post expressed gratitude and reflected on his journey in the game.

“This was my last (WB/LBFF). I’ve been considering this decision for a while. I thank all the organizations I worked with; I was always treated well. I also thank the many friends I made over these years, and Free Fire, which gave me everything I have.” – Mestre K9
K9 started in the competitive circuit back in 2019. He began as a player, though only for about four months, before switching to coaching. Over the years, he led several prominent teams. His coaching stops included GPS Vtrnos, Keyd Stars, Fluxo (FX), a second stint with Keyd Stars, Miners.gg, and finally, LOUD.
His biggest win came in 2021 when he coached Fluxo to victory in the LBFF – Split 1. That was Fluxo’s very first championship, and the organization has now collected three titles. After their Brazilian win, the team moved on to the world championship, where they finished in fourth place. Mestre K9 steps away from the game as one of its most respected figures, having built a significant legacy throughout his time in Free Fire.
