He Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami will play a friendly match against the El Salvador team next January 19 at the Cuscatlán Stadium in San Salvador.
The team in pink announced in a statement on Thursday that this friendly will be the first game of their preparation for the 2024 MLS season.
“We are pleased to announce our preseason plans and preparations for an exciting 2024 season,” said Inter Miami sporting director Chris Henderson.
“We are looking forward to playing against the El Salvador national team. This will be a good first test for our team against the best football players in the country,” he added.
Messi landed at Inter Miami this summer and won the Leagues Cup, the first title in history for the Florida team.
However, due to injury, he missed several MLS regular season games and Inter Miami was eliminated from the MLS Cup playoffs.
