Messi follows out of the summoned

Lionel Messi’s recovery continues to be slower than expected, so the star will miss another match: while he is getting ready, Paris Saint Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino did not include him in the squad for the Saturday’s match against Brest, in a new day of Ligue 1.

“Lionel Messi, whose evolution is good, continues his work with the medical and performance staff and will gradually return to the squad next week,” reported PSG in the medical part he provided this Friday. In this way, he ruled out the Argentine, who had a slow recovery from the coronavirus and that is why he has already missed two games since he tested negative: last week against Olympique Lyon and now against Brest.

Messi himself acknowledged on Thursday that getting ready took more time than expected, in a message on his social networks. “I wanted to tell you that it took me longer than I thought to be well, but I’m almost recovered and I’m really looking forward to getting back on the court,” the crack wrote on his Instagram account. “I have been training these days to put myself at 100%, very nice challenges are coming this year and hopefully very soon we can see each other again,” Messi completed, who contracted coronavirus during his vacation in Rosario.

Messi’s absence in another Ligue 1 match reinforces the possibility that the star will not be summoned for the double date of the Qualifiers at the end of January against Chile and Colombia. As the team is already qualified for the Qatar World Cup, coach Lionel Scaloni will choose not to summon him so that Messi does not wear himself out too much in the most demanding part of the season and to avoid tensions with PSG, who once expressed his anger because the player had returned injured after his commitments with the National Team.
