“From this group will come the 12 that will represent us in the European Championship in Israel and Slovenia. We want to make this group the best team possible to achieve the goals we set for ourselves and we want you to feel like yours. These players have all the talent, commitment and human qualities necessary to represent women’s basketball in our country this summer. I am sure that they will lead us to qualify for the 2024 Pre-Olympic and to fight for the top positions in the classification, the place that Spanish women’s basketball deserves”, Miguel Méndez pointed out.

The National Coach also wanted to send a message of encouragement to María Araújo and Irati Etxarri, who will not be able to be with the team due to the injuries they have suffered: “They are probably going through the hardest moment since they arrived on the pitches. I want to tell them that we will miss them and that we look forward to seeing them when they can be part of this team.”

“Neither on this occasion will a player who has been key and a fundamental part of this team be with us, such as Astou Ndour, who due to a personal situation will not be with the National Team this summer. We hope to have her with us again when she becomes available again ”, she explained.
