Meme del Real is a musician known for experimenting with different sounds and styles. His latest song, “Princess,” is a testament to this, as it combines various elements to create a unique sound.
The song serves as a preview of Meme del Real’s upcoming solo album and marks his integration into the Docmil Music label, a subsidiary of the Latin Division of Hybe, a Korean company that has promoted K-Pop worldwide.
Inspiration Behind the Song
Meme del Real drew inspiration from his experience as a father and the music of José José, a famous Mexican singer. He recalled his performance at the VL2020, where he sang boleros and ballads by José José, and wanted to incorporate those influences into “Princess.” The result is a blend of hip-hop, electronic, and modern elements with the classic sounds of José José.
“The moment we were playing in Vive Latino, which was spectacular because the public sang José José’s songs, I had to sing ‘the sad’ … now, when I was thinking of ‘Princess’ and I thought about what it would be like if this José José will be interpreted, because that genre is inspired, but I also thought about what would happen if he meets this more modern and technological side, more than hip-hop.”
