Meizu Unveils Note 16 and Note 16 Pro with Powerful Batteries and Fast Charging

Meizu has launched two new mid-range smartphones, the Note 16 and Note 16 Pro, in China. These devices offer a mix of budget-friendly pricing and premium features, making the technology more accessible.

What to Expect from Meizu Note 16 Pro

The Note 16 Pro boasts a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. This ensures fluid visuals and a responsive touch experience. The screen’s peak brightness reaches 1,600 nits, making it easily viewable even in bright conditions. A punch-hole design houses an 8-megapixel front camera.

The phone’s build is robust, with IP66/68 ratings that protect it from dust and water immersion. It can withstand being submerged in water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes. The rear camera setup features a 50-megapixel primary sensor with a 25 mm focal length and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 15 mm focal length.

The Note 16 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, built on a 4nm process. This chipset is paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256 GB to 512 GB. A large 6,200 mAh battery provides ample power, and 80W fast charging is supported.

The device is available in three colors: Cloud White, Light Blue, and Star Gray. It hits the Chinese market on May 16, 2025, with the following pricing:

  • 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage: 1,499 CNY
  • 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage: 1,699 CNY
  • 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage: 1,899 CNY
  • 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage: 2,099 CNY

Meizu Note 16: The More Budget-Friendly Option

The standard Note 16 features a 6.78-inch LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display’s peak brightness is 1,050 nits. The phone has an IP65 rating, protecting it from water jets from any direction. It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Inside, the Note 16 is powered by the Unisoc T8200 chipset, with a maximum CPU clock speed of 2.3 GHz. It comes with up to 12 GB of RAM and storage options up to 256 GB. The rear camera is a 50-megapixel primary sensor, accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. A 6,600 mAh battery provides power, with support for 40W charging.

The Note 16 will also be available on May 16, 2025, with pricing starting at 799 CNY for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant, going up to 999 CNY for the 256 GB storage option.
