Emily Robinson, Meghan Markle’s latest director of communications, has stepped down from her position. Her departure comes after only a few months on the job.
A spokesperson for Meghan, 44, confirmed the news to Us Weekly. The statement, issued Friday, October 24, noted that Robinson oversaw project-based work for a “very successful” season of ‘With Love, Meghan’.
She also provided additional support to the producer. The spokesperson praised her “excellent work” and successful completion of these projects. Robinson joined Meghan and Prince Harry’s team in June, following prior publicity work for Netflix. Both The Times of London and People reported that Robinson made the decision to leave voluntarily.
This marks the latest change in Meghan’s communications department. She has previously employed nine other individuals in similar roles. Two of these former staff members have since transitioned to non-publicity positions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Meghan and Harry, 41, relocated to California in 2020 after stepping back from their duties as senior members of the British royal family. Since their move, the couple has significantly expanded their media footprint.
This includes a major Netflix deal to produce diverse content. Among these projects is the docuseries ‘With Love, Meghan’. Meghan has already filmed two seasons of ‘With Love’. In this series, she shares her passions for cooking, gardening, and various DIY crafts alongside a group of celebrity friends.
Discussing the possibility of a third season at a Forbes panel earlier this month, Meghan acknowledged the intensive work involved, citing “eight episodes for two seasons is a lot of work.” She also reflected on her “Suits” production experience and the public’s desire for varied content formats. She emphasized exploring all options for content delivery, including quick recipes and the growth of her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
While a third season of ‘With Love, Meghan’ remains uncertain, the Duchess is set to return for a “really good” holiday special. She teased the special would feature her gift-wrapping techniques, a skill she once taught at Paper Source.
Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Productions has a slate of other projects. This includes documentary series about their relationship, the sport of polo, and Harry’s Invictus Games. The company is also developing a film adaptation of Carley Fortune’s novel ‘Meet Me at the Lake’.
In parallel, Meghan’s As Ever lifestyle brand is preparing for a new launch. On Thursday, October 23, Meghan hinted at an announcement for October 28. She shared a “Save the date” message via Instagram.
