Meghan Markle: ‘With Love, Meghan’ Season 3 a ‘Lot of Work,’ New Formats Explored

Meghan Markle has expressed reservation regarding a potential third season of her Netflix series, ‘With Love, Meghan.’ She indicated that creating eight episodes across two seasons proved to be extensive.

"After seven years doing ‘Suits,’ I remembered what goes into a production," the 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex stated during her panel at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit on Tuesday, October 14. She acknowledged a year of "learning" the format.

Markle also recognized the public’s desire for content in various formats. She hinted at ongoing "tests" behind the scenes to explore new content delivery.

"How can I give you a recipe in two minutes and where can I share it with you and how does that keep growing always?" she posed, indicating a shift towards more diverse media.

‘With Love, Meghan’ first premiered in March, with its second season arriving on Netflix in August. The show has featured celebrity guests such as Mindy Kaling and Chrissy Teigen, who cooked with Markle at her home.

Despite the uncertainty about a full season, Markle did confirm a "really good" ‘With Love, Meghan’ Christmas special is set to debut next month. She joked about showcasing her advanced gift-wrapping techniques, a skill she once taught at Paper Source.

This discussion about the show’s future comes as Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, recently expanded their partnership with Netflix. They signed a multi-year, first-look deal in August for all Archewell Productions film and television projects.

A first-look deal grants Netflix the initial opportunity to review a project. If the streaming giant declines, the creators are then free to pitch it elsewhere.

Markle expressed enthusiasm about the extended collaboration. "We are proud to extend our agreement with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand," she said this summer.

She added that she and Prince Harry are "inspired by our partners, who collaborate closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across diverse genres that resonates globally and celebrates our shared vision."

Archewell Productions also has other projects underway. One confirmed project is the adaptation of Carley Fortune’s book, Meet Me at the Lake.

Author Carley Fortune announced the adaptation in 2023. She shared on Instagram, "I am thrilled to confirm that I am partnering with Netflix and Archewell Productions for the [adaptation] of Meet Me at the Lake."

She described writing the book as "a great personal challenge" and called its recognition "truly incredible."
