Mega Crit Delays Slay The Spire 2 Early Access to March 2026

Hold your deck, strategy fans. The highly anticipated Slay The Spire 2 won’t be hitting Early Access screens quite as soon as we thought. What was initially penciled in for sometime this year has now been pushed back.

Mega Crit, the team behind the popular card-battling roguelike, made the announcement. They confirmed the game’s Early Access debut is now slated for March 2026. This news came via their September ‘The Neowsletter’ publication, which you can read here. This wasn’t a sudden decision, but followed many internal discussions. Simply put, they decided more development time is needed. The goal is to ensure the game meets their high quality standards for players.

Fans can expect continued updates on the game’s progress through ‘The Neowsletter.’ Mega Crit hopes everyone will stay excited for Slay The Spire 2’s eventual arrival. The sequel first broke cover at The Game Awards 2024. It certainly sparked a lot of buzz among those who loved the first game. Players are eager to see the new characters, fresh cards, and even tougher enemies.
