Some highly anticipated smartphones in the mid-range segment will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8000 processor and it has now been revealed that next March the chip will begin to reach terminal brands in quantity.
The Chinese brands Xiaomi and Realme are just some of the smartphone manufacturers that will use the new MediaTek processor in their terminals, which may soon reach users.
The new MediaTek Dimensity 8000 supports 2K resolution
While MediaTek is trying to conquer the premium smartphone segment with its Dimensity 9000 processor, it is not neglecting its traditional market. And for this reason, in March, smartphone manufacturers will begin to receive, in quantity, the new Dimensity 8000, which is aimed precisely at the mid-range segment of mobile terminals.
Xiaomi and Realme are just some of the players in this market that will receive the new chip that uses TSMC’s 5nm manufacturing process and dual 4+4 architecture. The Dimensity 8000 has four Cortex A78 cores and four smaller Cortex A55 cores.
Apparently, the new MediaTek chip also supports 2K resolution and refresh rates up to 120Hz, or alternatively 1080p with 168Hz, as well as supporting the LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 storage combination.
There is already a smartphone with the Dimensity 8000 at the controls
However, well-known leaker Digital Chat Station claimed that there is already a smartphone equipped with MediaTek’s new mid-range processor. The reliable leaker did not reveal the make and model of the smartphone, but went ahead with the crucial specifications of the terminal.
Thus, the still unknown smartphone has 12 GB of RAM paired with the Dimensity 8000 processor and a 6.6-inch screen with Full HD + resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
MediaTek Dimensity 8000 outperforms Snapdragon 870 on AnTuTu platform

According to the well-known leaker, the model also has a 16-megapixel front camera and a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, complemented by a second sensor also with 50 megapixels and a third with two megapixels.
Meanwhile, the test results of the Dimensity 8000 on the AnTuTu platform were also released and the new processor achieved a total score of 750,000 points. This means that it surpassed the Snapdragon 870 which, on the same platform, had a total score of 700,000 points.
