MCU: The Destruction Of The Infinity Stones Made The Celestials The Big Bads (Theory) | Geek Lands

the Marvel Cinematic Universe logically moves further and further away from the Infinity Stones story that was central to the saga of infinitybut these immensely powerful gemstones could still hold their importance in the Multiverse Saga. One theory suggests that their destruction will lead the Celestials to become the next big bad guys MCU. The fourth phase of mcu set up the Multiverse Saga, for this it has already introduced a new team of superheroes in Eternals with them appeared the Celestials, who although they had already been mentioned in the previous films, were clearly highlighted in the film’s story.

The Eternals are the oldest superhero team in the MCU. They are a group of synthetic beings created by the Celestial Arishem the Judgewho sent them to Earth centuries ago to protect it from Deviant, their evil counterparts. Once the deviants defeated, the Eternals stayed on Earth and helped humanity evolve, not being allowed to interfere in their conflicts. This led to disagreements between Eternals and the team eventually broke up to reunite several decades later after their leader died, Ajak (Salma Hayek), the return of the Deviants and the rapidly approaching apocalyptic event called “The Emergence”, which saw the birth of a new Celestial, Tiamut, at the center of the Earth.

Although the Celestials played a key role in Eternals, since one of them created these beings and it was revealed that they destroy entire planets so that new Celestials can be born, most of their history in the mcu remains a mystery, leaving room for a variety of theories about their origins and purposes in this connected universe, a theory suggests that the Infinity Stones were created to defeat themwith the disappearance of the Stones, the Celestials would be on the way to becoming villains.

The MCU’s Infinity Stones are six immensely powerful gemstones tied to different aspects of the universe: space, mind, reality, power, soul, and time. The MCU story tells that before the universe began, six singularities existed, and the Big Bang concentrated crystals from them to create the Infinity Stones, which it then sent out throughout the universe. The Celestials are the oldest race in the universe., they possess vast abilities to manipulate matter and energy. It is said that the Celestials were present long before the dawn of creation and that they are responsible for the Big Bang and many other events, which means that iThey were here long before the Infinity Stones existed.. The Celestials actually used the Infinity Stones at one time, as Eson the Seekerwho used the Power Stone to destroy an entire planet.

A theory posted on Reddit suggests a very different origin, or even an addition to the story on the origins of the Infinity Stones and a different link with Celestials by suggesting that the Stones were created to destroy the Celestials. The author behind this theory explains that shortly after the creation of the universe, the inhabitants rebelled against the Celestials because of their immense power, and that cosmic entities, especially the death, Entropy, eternity and infinitytherefore created weapons for protect the universe from the Celestials : Infinity Stones.

The author goes on to explain that each stone has a specific power or purpose that can “defeat a lesser Celestial on its own”, but when used together they can defeat some of the more powerful Celestials. Cosmic Entities were mentioned several times in the mcu, eternity made its official debut in Thor: Love and Thunderdespite this, we do not yet know much about them, except that they are primordial beings who predated the universe and were involved in the creation of the Infinity Stonesso it is possible that they have them created for the purpose of destroying the Celestials. However, a detail can weigh in against argument: the Celestials used the Infinity Stones at some point in their long existence and were unaffected by them, whereas the Cosmic Beings were disintegrated when they attempted to wield the power of the Power Stone.

The author concludes his theory by explaining that now that the Infinity Stones are gone, or ratherthey have regained their place in the main timelinethe heroes of the MCU (not necessarily the Eternals) will become its representations, and will be those who will overcome the Celestials in the Multiverse Saga. Even without the Stones and without these having necessarily been created to destroy them, the Celestials are set to become the villains of the Multiverse Saga. Indeed, at the end of Eternals, Arishem kidnapped Sersi, Phastos and Kingo in order to judge their actions and see if humanity was worth saving, which once again puts Earth in great danger. . Kang being the main villain of the Multiverse saga and the Celestials having immense power, they could end up allying in Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Warsthus becoming villains in their own right and justifying the choice of Marvel Studios to create a team of heroes more powerful than ever.
