Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri put on a show in Jeddah, with the McLaren duo dominating the second free practice session of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Norris edged out his teammate by a hair’s breadth, 163 milliseconds, to top the timing charts. The Red Bull of Max Verstappen was the only other car to crack the top three, but it was more than two-tenths of a second off Norris’ pace.
Drama Unfolds
The session was marked by drama when Yuki Tsunoda lost control of his Red Bull, bringing out the red flag with just eight minutes to go. Despite the interruption, drivers took to the track again to test their cars’ readiness to roll off the line. At the time of the red flag, Tsunoda was sixth fastest.
Gabriel Bortoleto was not so lucky. A fuel leak detected by his Kick Sauber mechanics meant he didn’t get to drive at all. Pierre Gasly, who had impressed in the first practice session with Alpine, was eighth this time around, a disappointment after topping the charts earlier.
What’s Next
The third and final practice session is scheduled for Saturday at 14:30, followed by qualifying at 18:00. The race is set for Sunday, also at 18:00.
