McIlroy holds on to lead with Rahm fifth

Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy, who returned to number one in world golf seven days ago after two years and four months, maintains his privileged position for another week, with 9.55 points on average, ahead of the 9.12 of the American Scottie Scheffler, from whom he snatched the first place.

No change in the top twenty in the list published this Monday, with the Australian Cameron Smith third with 8.4 points.

American Patrick Cantlay is fourth ahead of Spaniard Jon Rahm. The Americans Xander Schauffele, Will Zalatoris, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa and the Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick complete the list of the top ten.

Along with Rahm, the other Spaniards in the top one hundred are Adri Arnaus (78), Pablo Larrazábal (79), Sergio García (90) and Adrián Otaegui (96).

The Cantabrian Manuel Elvira, who premiered his record this Sunday by winning the title of champion of Spain, goes from 692 to 688.

Englishman Jordan Smith, winner in Vilamoura of the Portuguese Masters, is rewarded with his second title on the European circuit with a improvement of 24 places on the list, up to 81.

The Mexican Abraham Ancer, who is playing LIV Golf, goes down from 23 to 25.
