When the Bitcoin price crashed, crypto investors started sharing memes on Twitter. They said that because of the big loss, they might have to take a job at McDonald’s.
Crypto investors laugh the crypto crash away
The Bitcoin price has fallen by 50% since the digital currency hit a record high of $69,000 in November 2021. When BTC dropped below $40,000 this week, crypto investors began sharing Twitter memes en masse. Getting a job at McDonalds was especially common in these memes.

El Salvador’s president Nayib Bukele also embraced the memes and uploaded a new profile picture of him wearing a poorly photoshopped McDonald’s outfit during one of his speeches.

McDonald’s: “we are going to make it”
McDonald’s itself also participated in the jokes. The fast food giant’s account drew attention by tweeting:
how are you doing people who run crypto twitter accounts

While Binance answered the question with a photo of a crying face hidden behind a smiling mask, McDonald’s comforted the world’s largest crypto exchange with a “wagmi”, short for “we are going to make it”.
