Mbappé's replacement? PSG have their sights set on a Premier League star

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is developing an ambitious transfer plan for the next summer market, with the impending departure of Kylian Mbappé the main trigger. With Mbappe’s departure freeing up a significant £171m, PSG are eyeing three high-profile moves and one of the names on their list is Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford.

Mbappé, who announced his decision to leave PSG at the end of the season, has created a void that the Parisian club are looking to fill with a star signing. Although there is speculation that Mbappé could move to Real Madrid, PSG are determined to use the funds raised by his departure to strengthen their squad.

Rashford, an old wish from PSG

PSG’s goals include a direct replacement for Mbappé as well as reinforcements in central defense and midfield. Although names like Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao are being discussed, Marcus Rashford has emerged as a serious option for the French club, according to the Times.

PSG’s interest in Rashford is not new. The club has shown interest in the English striker since 2022, with its director Luis Campos being one of the main reasons for his potential signing. Although Rashford has experienced ups and downs in his form this season, scoring just five goals so far, PSG continue to see him as a player with great potential who could shine in a new environment.

Despite Rashford extending his contract with Manchester United in 2022, signing terms that will see him earn more than £300,000 a week, PSG are determined to make a convincing bid to secure his signature. With Mbappé’s departure, the Parisian club would like to complete the recruitment of a renowned replacement player and further strengthen its squad for future challenges.
