Mbappé’s Mother Fayza Lamari Saddened: Son’s Stardom Erased His Privacy

Kylian Mbappé burst onto the global stage like a rocket. The French forward now plays for Real Madrid, and he quickly learned to shine in big games, even deciding Champions League matches. This kind of fame brings incredible highs, but it also has its hidden costs. Sometimes, things are far from easy.

Fayza Lamari, Mbappé’s mother, recently shared some insights with BeIN Sports. She admitted she feels “sad” because her son can no longer walk down the street without being recognized. That simple freedom, most of us take for granted, is gone for him.

She even recalled a conversation from last year. “I had an argument with him when things weren’t going so well,” Fayza explained. “I asked him if he wasn’t thinking about having a girlfriend. He shot back, ‘Can you see a woman in the middle of all this chaos?'” It’s a powerful image of the pressure he faces. Fayza also shared a more telling detail: “Sometimes, he used to drive around in a [Peugeot] 206 just to see how it felt. He can’t even walk outside anymore. And that makes me sad.”

Fayza also spoke about a difficult time at the end of last year. Mbappé was investigated due to an alleged rape in Sweden. Her trust in him remained strong. “I trusted him, but of course, I asked him if he had done it,” she recounted. “He replied, ‘Are you done thinking about these crazy things?’ We really paid the price for all that media attention.”

Despite these personal struggles, Kylian Mbappé continues to impress on the field. He has been a standout performer for Real Madrid this season. In just 10 games, the forward has already racked up an impressive 14 goals and provided two assists.
