Mbappé sends message of support to Vinícius after racist insults:

Paris Saint-Germain player Kylian Mbappé sent a message of support to Real Madrid striker Vinícius Júnior, who suffered racist insults on Sunday.

The Real Madrid player received insults again in Madrid’s 1-0 defeat in Valendia, a game that had to be temporarily interrupted after the Brazilian said he had been insulted by a fan behind one of the goals at the Mestalla stadium.

Vinícius, 22 years old and who is blackhas suffered repeated racist insults since he settled in Spain five years ago.

“You are not alone. We are with you and we support you,” Mbappé wrote on Instagram.

Mbappé also received racist and hateful comments on social media after France’s loss to Argentina in the World Cup final last year.

Brazilian clubs, players and politicians – including the president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva – have expressed his support for Vinícius and criticized racism in the Spanish League.

The first trial of a fan accused of racist insults in Spanish professional football is expected to take place this year, in a case involving Athletic Bilbao striker Iñaki Williams, who was insulted by an Espanyol fan in a match in 2020 .
