The mayor of Miami (USA), Francis Suárez, the Dominican Minister of Finance, Jochy Vicente, and the former president of that country, Leonel Fernández, are among the speakers at the Global Forum & Country House. The Future of Money, which will be held between this Monday and Tuesday in La Romana (east).
Suárez will speak on Tuesday about public policies to create and strengthen the ‘fintech’ innovation ecosystem, while this Monday, Minister Vicente will deliver a speech on the economic policy implemented by the Dominican Government in the last two years.
Former Governor Fernández will offer, also this Monday, a "extensive explanation" about the objectives of the forum in his status as host and president of Funglode.
The forum has scheduled for tomorrow the intervention of Julia Smearman, director of International Financial Markets of the Department of the Treasury of the United States.
The international conclave has as its main objective "reflect" on global trends in the fields of economy, politics, the environment, technology and culture, under the organization of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (Funglode) that released the information today.
The meeting also will search "clarify" Doubts about regulatory issuesdata protection, risks and volatility, stability of financial systems in general, and even the guarantees that will be given in the midst of this transformation process to guarantee that it is an inclusion tool.
The document highlighted that in 2022 the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) declared that money was destined to become digital.
"Certainly, the concept of money has been evolving to move away from the value of the physical object that mints it and concentrate on the value of the wealth that it represents. This phenomenon exploded after the global financial crisis of 2008 with the rise of cryptocurrencies and the ‘blockchain’, added Funglode.
