Max Verstappen’s Oracle Red Bull Formula 1 team will launch a new collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in 2023 after a hugely impressive season, The Block reports. They are celebrating their dominant performance on the racetracks by launching what they believe is a one-of-a-kind NFT collection. These digital collectibles are minted on the Sui blockchain and are available through Bybit, the main sponsor of Red Bull Racing.
Verstappen and Red Bull Racing make history
This initiative follows a historic year for Verstappen’s team. They set a record for most championship points in a single season. With drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez, Red Bull Racing won both the constructors’ and drivers’ championships.
The design of the NFTs is in the hands of Automobilist, an award-winning design agency passionate about creating artwork and design in the world of motorsports. The NFTs promise to be unique works of art that capture the successes and emotions of the racing season.
“The launch follows the most successful year in the history of Oracle Red Bull Racing, which set records for the most championship points in a single season,” Red Bull said in a statement. “The collectibles will include unique artwork created by Automobilist, an award-winning design studio staffed by people who are passionate about creating designs and art surrounding motorsports.”
Formula 1 and crypto innovation
Red Bull Racing has chosen the Sui blockchain developed by Mysten Labs to launch its NFTs. The partnership with Mysten Labs was concluded at the beginning of the year. Dan Mitchell, marketing manager at Red Bull, said:
“It’s important that we continue to innovate and connect with fans around the world in new ways,” said Dan Mitchell, senior marketing manager at Oracle Red Bull Racing. It highlights the value the team sees in Web3 technologies such as NFTs as digital collectibles.”
