Mavi García exhibits in Italy

The Spanish Mavi García (Alé BTC Ljubljana) won this Saturday in the Giro dell’Emilia feminine ahead of the Cuban Arlenis Sierra Canadilla (AR Monex) and the Australian Rachel Neylan (Parkhotel Valkenburg).

Mavi García, born in Mallorca 37 years ago and Spanish road and time trial champion, was imposed after an attack on the final climb to the San Luca hill, on the outskirts of Bologna (northern Italy).

It was on that climb, in the last 500 meters, where García got a decisive margin to succeed, after his second place in 2020 at the Italian Strade Bianche.

This Saturday’s test was played on a journey of 87 kilometers, on a day in which the men’s category test is also disputed.

Classification

1. Mavi García (Esp / Alé) 2:14:47

2. A. Sierra (Cub / Monex) at 8

3. R. Neylan (Aus / Valkenburg) at 13
