Fatal Shooting at Party on Santiago’s Outskirts Kills Five and Injures Seven
Five people, believed to be foreign nationals, lost their lives, and seven others were injured in a shooting at a party on the outskirts of Santiago, Chile. According to reports, the shooting broke out in the middle of an altercation, with police failing to provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
Four Fatalities, Seven Injured
The shooting claimed the lives of four men and one woman on the spot, while seven others suffered injuries. The victims were attending a party in the community of Lampa, in a rural area of the Chilean capital. It is reported that most of the party attendees were foreigners, although their nationality has not been disclosed by Carabineros.
Incident Linked to Organized Crime
Despite ongoing investigations, Chilean President Gabriel Boric has linked the incident to organized crime. "This is a very serious and deeply disturbing incident. I want to be very clear that we, the State of Chile, will not allow organized crime to win the battle," the president said in a statement.
The cause of the shooting remains unknown, but the investigation is underway to determine the facts of the case.
