Mass Exodus at Leganés: What’s Behind the Sudden Departures

Contract Expirations and Loan Endings

Several key players at Leganés have reached the end of their contracts, including Abajas, Rosier, Jorge Sáenz, Sergió González, Neyou, Chicco, Brasanac, and Dani Raba. As of July 1, these players are free to negotiate with other teams. Additionally, players like Dmitrovic have the option to extend their contract for another season.

This is not the first time Leganés has dealt with contract expirations at the end of the season. The club has made short-term contracts in recent years due to uncertainty about their league status. Furthermore, several players on loan, including Altimira, Porozo, and Haller, will also see their loan periods end on June 30.

Sebastian Haller’s loan situation is particularly complicated due to various conditions. However, his performance and limited playing time make it unlikely that his loan will be extended.

In addition to the players, two key staff members, coach Borja Jimenez and Sports Director Txema Indias, are also nearing the end of their contracts, which expire on June 30.

Eyes on the Cup

The team, led by Borja Jimenez, has already begun training. A special training session is scheduled for Friday at 11:00, featuring the traditional Three Kings celebration, complete with surprises, gifts, and a visit from Their Majesties at the Butarque Stadium.

Following the training session, the team will travel to Cartagonova to face off against Cartagena on day 5 at 3:30 p.m. However, there are some doubts about the lineup, as Nastasic and Tapia are dealing with discomfort. Additionally, Óscar Rodríguez will be out due to a 4-match suspension.
