Mason Mount Returns to Training, Boosts Manchester United

It’s been a long wait, but finally, there’s some good news for Ruben Amorim. Nearly three months after suffering an injury, Mason Mount has returned to training with the Manchester United squad. However, the Portuguese manager is cautious, suggesting it’s “still too early” to consider the English midfielder an option for the upcoming Europa League matchup against Real Sociedad. Mount had been a regular feature in Amorim’s starting lineup, making seven appearances – including three starts – before his setback in December during the Manchester derby against City.

As the Reds prepare to face Real Sociedad in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16, the return of Mount to training is a welcome boost. Although his participation in the upcoming game is uncertain, the midfielder’s progress is undoubtedly a positive sign.

In another positive development, former Sporting midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who missed the games against Fulham and Real Sociedad, has also rejoined the group and could be an option to face the Spanish side. Ugarte’s return will undoubtedly be a boost for Amorim, who will be without defender Leny Yoro, substituted at halftime during the weekend’s match against Arsenal, for at least two games. Harry Maguire is also confirmed to miss the Europa League clash.

The Manchester United squad is set to host Real Sociedad on Thursday, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Spain. With the return of key players and the squad’s determination, the stage is set for an exciting matchup.
