Marquez: "Every time I put my head in front"

Marc Márquez continues to be limited by the condition of his right arm, but he sees himself taking steps forward and is proud of his career in Austria 2. This has been assured from Silverstone in the preview of the British GP.

-Do you have the situation under control when riding in water or dry?

-No, you’re right, even I knew that it would not be easy to return, but I thought that, especially in the recovery of the arm, of the sensations in general, it would be faster, but it is not being the case and yes that this makes it quite a little more unpredictable. You never know what will happen during the weekend, you cannot plan it perfectly, but apart from all this it is also true that the situation we have with the bike is not helping us to get the best results and everything comes together. I’m not one hundred percent, the bike isn’t either and this makes it cost us a little more, but little by little I’m getting better, the bike is getting better and better and little steps are being taken forward. Honda is working a lot and this means that on circuits like Austria, where predictably I would not have to be there in the dry, it turns out that during Austria 2 I felt very well and I was able to do a very good race. Later, I fell in the wet, yes, but hey, apart from all this the most important thing is that every time I stick my head out of the positions in front and that was my intention. The intention of this second part of the season is not to win all the races, which obviously cannot, but to be much closer to the top positions which is where we want to be next year.

-What perspective do you come to Silverstone from?

-Silverstone is one of the difficult circuits in the World Championship, but in 2019 I was pretty good at it all weekend so I don’t know. I do not know how to answer the question of what we will be able to opt for, but if I am guided by the feelings of Austria, of the two Austria, I think that perhaps we cannot opt for victory, but we cannot rule out anything from the start. We will go out to the weekend with a low profile, optimistic in the sense that in terms of physical conditions and with the motorcycle we will try to find ourselves well from the start, and then during the weekend we will see where we are and what we can choose and , above all, be close to those in front. This is the intention, I said it. I do not hide that the second part of the season is what we did in Austria, in Austria 2, sticking our heads out from the front. In Austria 1 what happened happened, you have to stick your head out in front, go around with those in front and that is the intention we have for this second part of the season.

-Will you continue to use the material that gives you the most confidence?

-Obviously, I am open to everything, because now we are in a situation in which Honda has to decide what they want to try and what not, because I am not risking the championship and they are the ones who have to decide which direction they want to take. . When I test things, the final comment of whether it is valid or not is by which they are guided and, for example, what we test in Austria 1 and something in Austria 2 at the moment is not used to verify some things and here we will test others, but We will start with the bike with which I raced in Austria 2, with which I raced in Assen, with my base which is the one with which I am most comfortable. Also because they have decided so. The important thing is to keep working and little things are being tested, but we will try to have a fairly normal weekend so as not to get too dizzy and see how far we can go. Everything will be seen tomorrow when we go out, if we are well or not to know how the weekend will go.

-Have you talked about the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo with Pep Guardiola on his visit to Manchester City?

-We don’t talk about that. (Smile). It has not been spoken although it is true that I have asked him if ‘that football transfer sometimes is …’ and he answered: ‘It is impossible for you to understand it. If we, who are inside, it is also difficult for us to understand whether a player can come or not … “Football is in another dimension, especially when it comes to signings, but that issue was not discussed or I wanted to know secrets from inside the club.
