Jesus Aguilar hit a two-run homer in the first inning and scored in the seventh, Daniel Castano got his first win of the season and the Miami Marlins continued their dominance over the Washington Nationals by beating them 5-3 on Saturday. .

The Marlins have beaten the Nationals 10 of 11 meetings this season even though they are 26-39 against the rest of the league.

Miami nailed this win despite a sloppy performance that included four throwing errors and a pair of wild pitches. Dominican Juan Soto gave Washington a moment of happiness on this weekend of celebration with his 15th home run of the campaign.

Soto’s homer was the only earned run against Castano (1-1), who remained in control as he struck out three and allowed four hits in just over five innings.

Castano and the Marlins relievers had the offensive support of Aguilar, who went 2-for-5, Avisaíl García, who produced two runs, and Miguel Rojas with a sacrifice fly.

For the Marlins, Venezuelans Aguilar 5-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs, Garcia 4-1 with two RBIs and Rojas 2-1. The Dominicans Jesús Sánchez 4-0 and Bryan de la Cruz 4-1.

For the Nationals, Venezuelans César Hernández 3-0 and Keibert Ruiz 2-1. The Dominicans Soto 3-1 with a run scored and an RBI, Nelson Cruz 4-0 with a run scored, Maikel Franco 4-0 and Víctor Robles 2-1. Cuban Yadiel Hernández 1-0.
