Mark Hamill tweets his name, his message goes viral

It sometimes takes little to panic the canvas. Mark Hamill, the memorable interpreter of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga, experienced it this weekend.

While an internet user challenged the iconic Jedi to twitter his name, believing that this simple tweet would generate thousands of likes, the star played the game, as the New York Post spotted. In response to this funny challenge, the actor therefore stupidly tweeted, Sunday, September 5, via his account, the ten letters of his name and first name: Mark Hamill. And the result was not long in coming. The message, all in all summary, panicked the web.

Hundreds of thousands of “likes”

This simple post has, to date, garnered more than 600,000 “likes” in just three days. A very good performance which says a lot about the popularity rating of Mark Hamill, who in 2017 again took on the role of Luke Skywalker in “The Last Jedi”.

For the record, in the history of the platform, the tweet announcing the death of actor Chadwick Boseman, in August 2020, was the most liked since the launch of the social network in 2006. With more than 7 million “ I like ”, he had dethroned the previous record held by Barack Obama. In 2017, the former president of the United States tweeted a quote from Nelson Mandela: “No one is born hating another person because of their color, their origins or their religion”.
