Marileidy Paulino suffers her first loss of the season in the 400 meters

The Dominican Marileidy Paulino, current Olympic runner-up, conceded her first defeat of the course in the 400 meters, after finishing third this Sunday in the meeting in Silesia (Poland), eighth round of the Diamond League with a mark of 50.00 seconds.

An insufficient mark for Paulino, who last week was crowned champion of the Central American and Caribbean Games, to be able to dispute the victory against the Polish Natalia Kaczmarek, who won the victory with a time of 49.48 seconds, a new meeting record .

The podium was completed by the Dutch Lieke Klaver, who paid for her explosive staging in the final meters in which was overtaken by Kaczmarek which relegated her to second position with a time of 49.81 seconds.

A race strategy diametrically opposed to that of Marileidy Paulino who, despite her final reaction, could not reverse the first 200 meters in which the Dominican, who this course has a best mark of 48.98 seconds, seemed excessively relaxed.
