Mari Boya will race in F3

David Vidales and Pepe Martí waved the Spanish flag on the Formula 3 grid this season with Campos Racing and, for the next season, Spanish representation is already assured in the category prior to F2 and F1. The Catalan driver Mari Boya will make the leap to the FIA championship in 2023 with the help of MP Motorsport, the fourth best team of this campaign. He will do it at the age of 18 and after having competed in two courses in the European Regional Formula, where he has achieved two podiums and a tenth best result in the championship.

Boya competed in the last eight races of the season with MP Motorsport after starting at ART Gran Prix and was already with the Dutch team in the postseason tests in Jerez, in which he managed to lap in top-10 times and completed no less than 225 laps in the three days of testing. A performance that has earned him a seat on the grid with one of the most competitive cars. “I’m really looking forward to racing and I can’t wait for the first race in Bahrain!” he assures.

The one from Lés (Lleida) analyzes the good news as follows: “It is a great feeling to know that this winter I will be preparing for a vital next step in my career, move up to FIA Formula 3 with MP Motorsport. It’s great to be able to do it together with MP. Having worked so well with the team in 2020 and in recent months, I had no hesitation in signing with them for my F3 debut.” After five years in karting and debuting in single-seaters in 2020 with a second place in the Spanish F4 (with three victories and 14 podiums), the opportunity to shine in a great showcase has arrived.
