FC Barcelona is searching the market for a left-back to compete with Jordi Alba next season and one of the names that have come up for the Camp Nou is that of the Spanish international Marcos Alonso, a Chelsea player.
Marcos Alonso, who is currently concentrated with the national team for the friendlies before Albania and Iceland, has granted a interview in ‘OK Diario’ in which he was asked about the possibility of signing for Barça and left the door open for a possible change of scenery.
Despite the rumors of a possible signing for Barça, the option of Marcos Alonso is not the priority for the Catalans, since he is 31 years old and is close to the age of Jordi Alba.
Other options
Barça’s priorities for the left wing are José Luis Gayá (Valencia), Alejandro Grimaldo (Benfica), Angeliño (Red Bull Leipzig), Javi Galán (Celta) and Sergio Reguilón (Tottenham). The azulgranas will have to decide between these candidates in the summer to reinforce the left lane of the defense.
