Marco Rose Sacked by Leipzig After Two and a Half Years

Marco Rose’s time at Leipzig is over. The 48-year-old coach led the team for 125 games, but it all ended with a 0-1 loss to Monchengladbach.
Rose had renewed his contract just last season, but that didn’t save his job. Leipzig won only four of their last 14 games.

The team made it to the German Cup semifinals, but that’s about it. They’re sixth in the league and got dumped from the Champions League in the group stage.
This wasn’t what Leipzig had in mind. They thought Rose was the guy to lead them to victory.

“We believed in Marco for a long time,” said Marcel Schäfer, Leipzig’s sporting director. “We did everything we could to turn things around, but it didn’t work.
We need a new boost to reach our goals this season. We want to thank Marco and his staff for their work and commitment over the past two and a half years.”

Now Leipzig needs to find a new coach. They’ll announce their pick soon.
For now, Rose is out, and Leipzig is looking for a fresh start.

The Search for a New Coach

Leipzig has some work to do. They need to find someone who can turn their season around.
Here are some possibilities:

  • Someone with experience in the league
  • A coach with a winning record
  • A fresh face with new ideas

Only time will tell who Leipzig picks. But one thing is sure – they need someone who can win.
Leipzig can’t afford to waste any more time. They need a coach who can lead them to victory, and fast.
