Marcelo already knows his future away from football. The winger has been investing in soccer clubs since 2017. In fact, it already owns two: first it was the Azuriz (Brazil) and then it acquired the Mafra (Portugal). In an interview for ‘TNT Sports’ with Tatiana Mantovani, the Brazilian affirmed that he will continue in the world of investments in soccer, where he wants to expand his brand in the big Brazilian clubs. In 2022 he hopes to take another step in business with the DOZE holding company.
The investment world is nothing new for the Brazilian since his first acquisition of a club four years ago. “I always had a very clear vision of how I would like to expand my brand as an athlete and acquiring clubs was a clear investment opportunity. It all started in 2017 with the acquisition of Azuriz, the first club to bear my name on the board. The objective from the beginning was to make him a benchmark in the training of athletes and that is what we did ”, affirmed the defender.
In addition to Azuriz, he recently bought Mafra, a Portuguese club with which he tries to find a link between Brazilian and European football. “We see Mafra as a potential connection between the European and Brazilian markets. Many teams from the second European league have difficulties accessing the Brazilian market and Mafra, being from the same group as Azuriz, forms a perfect link. It was a good business, even with its small structure, Mafra was well organized financially and without any debt ”.
Marcelo ends his contract with Real Madrid on June 30, he will not continue. His idea is to continue playing football, but he has already started working on preparing his future when he hangs up his boots.
