Marathi actor and director Ravindra Mahajani was found dead on Friday in a rented apartment in Talegaon Dabhade, Pune. According to police, Mahajani, a Mumbai resident, lived alone in a rented apartment at Zarbia Society, Ambi, Talegaon Dabhade, for about eight months. Neighbors had reported to the police on Friday night around 4:30 pm when a foul odor emanated from the apartment.
As soon as the information was received, a team from Talegaon MIDC Police Station arrived at the scene. The police found the apartment locked from the inside. After this, in the presence of the local people, when the police entered the house breaking down the door, they were all shocked to see the scene there. Mahajani’s corpse lay inside. Police said the owner of the apartment identified the dead Shakht as Mahajani.
According to the police, it appears that the actor had died about two to three days before his body was found. The police have informed the late actor’s family. At the moment, the police have sent his body for autopsy to find out the cause of the actor’s death.
Born in Belgium, Ravindra Mahajani started his acting journey with the movie ‘Saat Hindustani’ in which he played the role of a police inspector. He achieved success in 1974 with the film Jhunj, directed by Kiran Shantaram. The success of this project gave a new height to his career. After this came many of his films including ‘Aaram Haram Hai’, ‘Lakshmi’, ‘Lakshmi Chi Pavalam’, ‘Devata’, ‘Gondhalat Gandal’ and ‘Mumbai Cha Faujdar’. He continued to work in films till 2019. He was last seen in the Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starring film ‘Panipat’.
Ravindra Mahajani’s son Gashmir is very famous both in the TV and Marathi industry. The actor recently made headlines by becoming a contestant on the dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’. Gashmeer also appeared in the famous TV series ‘Imli’.
