MAPFRE and the Copa del Rey renew their collaboration agreement for three more years

Having a project that has a guaranteed future is a treasure and MAPFRE and the Real Club Náutico de Palma are taking care of it. This Tuesday it became official renewal agreement between them for three more years, so that MAPFRE will continue, until 2025, as the main sponsor of the Copa del Rey. In this way, the insurer will continue giving the regatta its name, as Copa del Rey MAPFRE, in the 2023, 2024 and 2025 editions. The agreement became clear with the signing between Emerico Fuster, president of the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP) and the organizing committee of the regatta, and José Manuel Inchausti, CEO of MAPFRE Iberia, at the insurer’s headquarters. Raúl Costilla, CEO of MAPFRE Vida, and Manuel Fraga, director of RCNP, also participated in the event.

This is great news for the sailing world because the Copa del Rey MAPFRE is one of the main regattas in the Mediterranean. Emerico Fuster appreciated this renewal and commented that “for the club and for Spanish sailing it is a source of pride to be able to renew MAPFRE’s confidence once again for the Copa del Rey, thus allowing us the promotion of the sport of sailing and its values ​​such as commitment, teamwork and sustainability. For all of this, our utmost gratitude.” For his part, José Manuel Inchausti pointed out that this agreement reinforces MAPFRE’s commitment to sailing and to this historic event, “to which The company has been linked for 16 years now, as it shares with it the values ​​of effort, solidarity and desire to excel that sailors show year after year”. MAPFRE’s association with the Copa del Rey began in 2007.

Every summer Palma and the entire island of Majorca become the world center of sailing between the last week of July and the first week of August. This year, the regatta will celebrate its 41st edition from Sunday, July 30 to Saturday, August 5. and more than a hundred teams of more than 20 nationalities are already registered and willing to compete in one of the main cruiser class regattas in the world. In addition to the extensive sports calendar, there is also a social one distributed over the seven official days of the regatta and which ends on Saturday, August 5 at 9:00 p.m., with the awards ceremony in Ses Voltes presided over by King Felipe.
