The Guardians announced that Manny Ramírez and Dale Mitchell will be inducted into the Hall of Fame team on Saturday, August 19 before the Cleveland vs. detroit.
Ramírez played with the Cleveland team from 1993 to 2000, after being selected by the club in the 1991 Amateur Draft out of George Washington High School in New York. In his time with Cleveland, he appeared in two World Series and four All-Star Games, winning three Silver Sluggers.
In his eight seasons with the club, Ramírez hit .313/.407/.592 with 236 home runs and 804 RBIs. He is the franchise’s all-time leader in slugging percentage, OPS (.998), fourth in on-base percentage, eighth in RBIs and ninth in extra-base hits (484). His 165 RBIs in 1999 also represent a team record.
A member of Cleveland’s last World Series championship team, Mitchell made two All-Star Games and hit .312 in a career from 1946-1956.
