Manny Machado connects his HR 300, he is the 16th Dominican with this figure in the Major Leagues

Dominican Manny Machado became the 16th Dominican in Major League history to hit 300 or more home runs this Saturday in the Phillies’ 6-4 victory over the Padres.

Machado went down for the third straight game, tying his second-longest streak of his career.

The drive put the Padres ahead 4-3 in the eighth inning, but the Phillies put together a three-point rally to turn the score around.

Machado joins an exclusive group of Dominican players who have hit at least 300 home runs in the Major Leagues.

Albert Pujols is the top Dominican home run hitter with 703, followed by Alex Rodríguez with 696 and Sammy Sosa with 609 home runs.

Manny Ramírez (555), David Ortíz (541), Adrian Beltré (477), Nelson Cruz (462), Vladimir Guerrero (449), Edwin Encarnación (424), Alfonso Soriano (412), Aramis Ramírez (386), José Bautista (344), Robinson Canó (335), Moisés Alou (332), Miguel Tejada (307) and now Machado complete the historical list.

Of them, only Machado, Cruz and Canó are active, although the last two do not have a team in the Major Leagues to date.

Overall, the Padres third baseman is the 157th player to reach 300 home runs.
