Terance Mann scored a career-high 31 points, Kawhi Leonard added 30 and the Los Angeles Clippers beat Houston 121-100 on Sunday, extending the Rockets’ season-long skid to 10 straight losses.
Both teams were limited. Houston starters Jalen Green and Jae’Sean Tate served a one-game suspension for coming off the bench during an altercation in Friday’s loss in Sacramento.
The Clippers were without Paul George (hamstring) and Marcus Morris (knee). They had lost eight of nine.
Eric Gordon led the Rockets with 24 points, Kenyon Martin Jr. had 22 points and nine rebounds and Alperen Sengun finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
The Clippers opened the game in the fourth quarter when they outscored the Rockets 30-10.
With Leonard on the bench to start the quarter, the second unit gave the Clippers their first double-digit lead of the game. Robert Covington started an 11-0 run with a 3-pointer and scored inside before Moses Brown’s spike closed the lead to 103-92. Norman Powell led the bench with 18 points.
Leonard scored 13 points, including nine in a row, in 11 minutes of the first quarter.
