In the case of communal violence in Manipur, the central and state governments have jointly decided to provide financial assistance to the families of the victims. A one-time monetary compensation of Tk 10 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased. Besides, the government has also promised a job for one person in the family. The decision to provide financial assistance was announced after Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s meeting with Amit Shah.

He reached Manipur on a four-day visit on Monday night. Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla and IB Director Tapan Kumar Deka were also present. According to sources, Amit Shah finalized the issue of compensation in a meeting with the Chief Minister that night.
