MANGO PAY, one of the main European providers of payment solutions for marketplaces and platforms, has announced the appointment of Luke Trayfoot as Chief Revenue Officer. In this newly created role, Luke takes on a critical leadership role in helping MANGOPAY accelerate its international expansion as well as improve revenue streams for this next phase of growth.
The appointment of Luke Trayfoot, who will report to General Manager Romain Mazeries, is one more step for MANGOPAY to become one of the world’s leading payment solutions that drive the platform economy.
Track record in the application of technology and payment companies
With over a decade of experience in the payments and marketplace industry, Luke Trayfoot has a strong track record of scaling payments and technology companies, but also a deep understanding of the top challenges facing marketplaces. With extensive experience in digital marketplaces, cross-border commerce and payment environments, Luke will focus on developing new markets, enabling MANGOPAY clients to expand their business globally, while meeting growth and profit targets. This appointment follows a year of exceptional growth for the company and the acquisition of MANGOPAY by Advent International.
Previously, Luke was the EMEA Sales Director for Hyperwallet, where he helped build a global payments company. During his time at Hyperwallet, PayPal acquired the financial technology company to improve payment capabilities especially for marketplaces and platforms. After joining PayPal, Luke led the company’s marketplace strategy in EMEA. Prior to joining Hyperwallet, Luke spent 4 years at World First where he held numerous leadership roles including Head of Partnership Sales EMEA and Director of Partnership Sales.
On his appointment as Chief Revenue Officer, Luke Trayfoot commented: “I am delighted to join MANGOPAY and bring my in-depth knowledge and experience to a pioneering company in digital payment solutions. Marketplaces continue to be the paradigm shift in digital commerce that is connecting the planet. In fact, last year marketplace sales increased 25% compared to global e-commerce sales, which only grew 12%. Unlike other payment solutions for marketplaces, MANGOPAY’s payment environment is tailored to meet the specific needs of global marketplaces. With the team we have and Advent’s position in the business, I am confident we are well on our way to becoming the leading payment solution in this category.”
I am pleased to welcome Luke to our team. His motivating leadership style and his experience in go-to-market strategy and execution will be a great addition as we continue with our expansion plans in the UK and around the world,” said Romain Mazeries, executive director of MANGOPAY. Luke joins us at a very exciting time following our successful acquisition by Advent. He will help us enter another exciting phase of hypergrowth.”
