Mandhana Zooms Past Australian Batsman in Women’s ODI Run Scoring

In a recent match between the Indian women’s team and Ireland, a notable achievement was made by Indian opener Smriti Mandhana. She displayed an exceptional batting performance, scoring 135 runs and hitting 12 fours and 7 sixes in 80 balls. This remarkable inning has catapulted Smriti to the 11th position in terms of most runs scored in women’s ODI cricket, surpassing Australian player Ellyse Perry.

Smriti’s outstanding performance breaks records

Smriti Mandhana commenced the year 2025 with remarkable batting form, scoring one century and one half-century in the three-match ODI series against Ireland. In terms of scoring the most runs in the ODI format for India, Smriti ranks second after Mithali Raj. Her outstanding performance has earned her the 11th position in the list of players who have scored the most runs in women’s ODI cricket, leaving Ellyse Perry behind. Smriti has scored 4209 runs in 97 innings of 97 matches at an average of 46.25, including 10 centuries and three half-centuries. In comparison, Ellyse Perry has scored 4185 runs at an average of 49.23 while batting in 127 innings of 154 matches.

Smriti sets a new milestone for Asian players in women’s ODI

Smriti Mandhana achieved her 10th century in the women’s ODI format, becoming the first female Asian player to accomplish this milestone. In Asia, Smriti is now ranked third, following Chamari Atapattu with 6 centuries and Mithali Raj with 5 centuries, in terms of scoring the most centuries in ODI cricket.
