A much awaited return. Twelve years after his departure, Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Manchester United in the last days of the transfer window, will wear the Red Devils jersey again this Saturday when Newcastle arrive. The match, counting for the 4th day of the Premier League, will be followed live and in full from 4 p.m. on Canal + Sport and RMC Sport 2.
Old Trafford will only have eyes for him. All the seats were sold in just a few hours to see the five-fold Golden Ball at work on the lawn of the Mancunian enclosure. And all the fans dream of seeing the Portuguese achieve the same feat as in January 2008 when he scored his only treble in the Premier League against the Magpies.
Before this confrontation, the two teams had a completely opposite start to the season. Newcastle haven’t won any of their first three league games. Allan Saint-Maximin’s teammates lost to West Ham (2-4) and Aston Villa (2-0), before being hooked by Southampton (2-2).
For its part, Manchester United are still undefeated with two victories against Leeds (5-1) and Wolverhampton (0-1) and a draw conceded on the lawn of Southampton (1-1). And the men of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be able to count on Cristiano Ronaldo to continue this momentum.
