Manchester United Coach Ruben Amorim Praises Team’s Luck and Advantage Over Bilbao

Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao was a surprising turn of events. Ruben Amorim’s team got a big break when Vivián was red-carded midway through the first half. “We got lucky,” Amorim admitted. “The result is good, but we need to be careful. We struggled at first, but the goal and red card changed everything.”

The win puts United in a strong position heading into the second leg, but Amorim is cautioning against complacency. “We can’t take it easy,” he said. “The same result could happen at Old Trafford, and we need to be ready.” United’s players were visibly nervous at times, with Ugarte and Patrick Dorgu showing signs of jitters.

Key Players Stepped Up

Experienced players like Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes made a big difference. “Casemiro brought experience, and that’s something you can’t buy,” Amorim said. “Bruno and Casemiro are on a different level.” The team’s goal was to score a fourth, but it didn’t happen. Amorim praised Maguire’s contribution to the first goal, saying, “He’s a good player.”

United will need to rest some players for their upcoming match against Brentford, as the team is tired. The second leg against Bilbao will be tough, and they’ll need their fans’ support. Amorim ended by poking fun at Harry Maguire, saying, “He’s a good winger [laughs]!” before adding that sometimes players go through tough patches, but Maguire is currently doing well for the team.
