Manchester City’s formidable real-world football prowess has translated directly into the virtual arena, with the English club named the top team in EA Sports FC 24, the popular video game simulation.
The assessment, conducted by the publication Pichau Arena, cited Manchester City’s blend of high overall player ratings, superior in-game performance, effective tactical fit, and strong individual player roles as key factors. This combination positioned them as virtually unbeatable within the game.
The digital recognition mirrors the club’s significant real-world achievements under manager Pep Guardiola, including their status as triple reigning Premier League champions at the time the analysis was made. The squad’s collection of “extraclass” players underpinned both their actual and simulated dominance.
EA Sports FC 24 marks a new era for the long-running soccer simulation franchise, following the conclusion of the partnership between game developer Electronic Arts and global football body FIFA in 2022. The game evaluates teams beyond just their headline ratings.
While Manchester City secured the top spot, other European powerhouses such as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid were highlighted as strong contenders, also boasting high capabilities within the simulation.
