“Bitcoin creators” in trouble with developers
Wright launched the lawsuit in 2016. The lawsuit against the 13 Bitcoin developers and various companies, including Blockstream and Coinbase, revolves around alleged violations of Wright’s copyrights in the Bitcoin white paper. The opposing party claims Wright fabricated evidence and manipulated data.
However, Wright claims he recently found 97 new documents in his home and the judge admitted Wright’s new evidence. The opposing party describes the emergence of these new documents as suspicious, to say the least. In fact, they have presented no less than 50 pieces of evidence that several other documents presented by Wright are forged and forged.
At the same time, the judge ordered Wright to pay an additional £800,000 (about $1 million) as security for the developers’ legal costs, on top of an earlier amount of £100,000.
Bitcoin lawsuit continues
The case will continue on February 5 and both parties can seek to enforce their rights. This case is more than a personal dispute; It goes to the heart of Bitcoin ownership. Wright’s claims and the litigation raise questions about copyright, ownership and the future of Bitcoin as a decentralized project.
Craig Wright has claimed for years that he is the inventor of Bitcoin, but so far there has been no convincing evidence. There have also been several lawsuits, but none have confirmed that Wright is actually behind the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. It is unlikely that this will ever happen again.
